Charity Fundraising - Helping Those In NeedHelping a charity or establishing a non-profit organisation for charity is one of the most noble things that you can do. There are many people out there who need help and those who are willing to help are just not enough. Some may say that they do want to help but personal circumstances prevent them in giving time, effort and material help for charity. This may be true but remember that whatever situation you are in, there's always a way to lend a helping hand if you are genuinely willing to help. If you are up for the challenge of charity fundraising, there are established non-profit organisations like the Red Cross who will be happy to receive your support. So where do you start?First, assess the resources available to you. This will determine how big or how small your charity fundraising activity will be. How much personal money are you willing to donate for the charity fundraising. How much time are you willing to devote for your cause? Are there individuals who will be willing to work with you and donate time and money for charity? Once you have determined the resources available to you, then it would be the time to proceed with creating a plan. A sound plan will help you stay focused. Planning includes goal setting and how you go about achieving that goal. It helps to set a high goal per individual. In charity fundraising, overachieving will not be a problem and is, in fact, welcome. Setting a high goal will push you to work harder and even if you don't attain the goal, you should arrive a decent amount that you can donate to charity. Set your goal high but don't forget to be realistic. Remember to consider the resources available to you when setting your goal. After setting a high, yet realistic goal, the next step would be to figure out how you go about reaching your goal. What charity fundraising activities would suit the available resources and the goal you have set? Events usually take more time and money to organise but the returns could be satisfying. There are many charity fundraising options available to you that won't cost a lot of money, on the other hand. Depending on the available resources, you can go ahead and decide which fundraising activity would be most effective. You could organise an event like a concert, a marathon, a dance party, a poker night, a golf tournament, a singing contest. Really, your imagination is the limit because the possibilities are endless. In hosting events, you earn money by sponsorship or by charging for entrance fees. When soliciting for business sponsors, be sensitive to the values of the organisation you will be giving the funding to. It would be best to discuss with the receiving organisation which businesses they won't accept donations from to avoid complications. Remember that it is good and well to have good intentions. But it would be extremely helpful to those in need if you act on those good intentions. |
